Multiple reports in Italy claim Fiorentina and Napoli are on the verge of completing a swap deal involving their goalkeepers, Pierluigi Gollini and Salvatore Sirigu.

Both players joined their new teams in the summer, Gollini signed for Fiorentina on loan from Atalanta, while Sirigu moved to the Stadio Maradona on a free transfer from Cagliari.

The Italy international and Euro 2020 winner expected more playing time, so he pushed to leave Napoli in the January transfer window.

According to Calciomercato.com, he will move to Florence on a dry loan deal, meaning Fiorentina do not have an option to make his move permanent at the end of the season.

Gollini, on the other hand, will move to Napoli on loan with an option to buy, the same formula used by Fiorentina to loan the ex-Tottenham goalkeeper from Atalanta over the summer.

Gollini has conceded eight goals in nine appearances across all competitions this season, keeping four clean sheets. Sirigu has never played for Napoli this term. His contract at the Stadio Maradona expires in the summer and the Partenopei have an option to extend it for one more season.
