Napoli have agreed a deal with La Liga side Getafe for Uruguayan left back Mathias Olivera.

The Partenopei have been pushing to sign the 24-year-old full back for some time now and they’ve finally reached an agreement on the details of the transfer with Getafe, although it’s still unclear whether the player will arrive this month or in the summer.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli have agreed to sign Olivera on a €1m loan deal with an €11m obligation to buy clause attached, plus €3m in add-ons.

Napoli want to sign the Uruguayan left back in this month’s transfer window but the Spanish side do not want to lose a starting player part-way through the season. Getafe are only four points clear of the relegation zone and so they want to secure their future in La Liga first

Regardless of whether Olivera arrives this month or in the summer, a deal has been reached. The 24-year-old will be fighting for a starting spot with Mario Rui, giving coach Luciano Spalletti another option on the left.
