Cagliari are in talks to bring Radja Nainggolan back from Inter, this time on a permanent basis for circa €12m.

The midfielder was in Sardinia from January 2010-14, then returned on loan from the Nerazzurri last season.

His wife, who is currently battling cancer, is from the island and the move was also in part to ensure she was closer to her family.

Now ex-Roma coach Eusebio Di Francesco has taken over the team and given Nainggolan even more reasons to make the move a permanent one.

With Arturo Vidal signing today, Inter no longer have room for the 32-year-old Belgium international.

According to various reports, including FCInterNews, Cagliari met Inter directors today to discuss the possibility of a transfer.

It’d be a loan for €3m with obligation to buy at the end of the season for another €9m.

The main issue is his salary, but Nainggolan is discussing a way of extending the deal so that the wages can be spread out over a longer period of time.
