This has been a rough start to the season for the Nerazzurri, who despite a star-studded transfer campaign lost to Sassuolo and fumbled a 2-0 lead to draw with Torino.

They go into the Stadio Dall’Ara with just one point, the same amassed by Filippo Inzaghi’s Bologna.

Despite some major question marks over the three-man defence used against Torino, Luciano Spalletti appears to be sticking with it.

The big change is that Nainggolan is finally available, as the ex-Roma midfielder missed most of pre-season with a muscular injury.

He is expected to start with Ivan Perisic in a more advanced role, supporting hitman Mauro Icardi.

Kwadwo Asamoah has also shaken off a knock and should be able to play down the left with Sime Vrsaljko on the other flank.

Bologna are predicted to use the same line-up that drew 0-0 with Frosinone, many of those decisions foisted upon Inzaghi, as Rodrigo Palacio, Angelo Da Costa, Godfred Donsah and Neuhen Paz are injured.

Adam Nagy returns from suspension, but should be on the bench, with Mattia Destro pushing Federico Santander for the starting spot.

Probable line-ups

Bologna: Skorupski; Gonzalez, Danilo, Helander; Mattiello, Dzemaili, Pulgar, Poli, Dijks; Falcinelli, Santander

Inter: Handanovic; D’Ambrosio, De Vrij, Skriniar; Vrsaljko, Vecino, Brozovic, Asamoah; Nainggolan, Perisic; Icardi
