Palermo Coach Bortolo Mutti feels they made “stupid” mistakes against Milan and admits President Maurizio Zamparini “was upset.”

The Sicilians had won their last five consecutive home games against the Rossoneri in all competition, but were thumped 4-0 this evening.

“We had some problems with the squad this week and that made an impact, while Milan got into the game in a much more incisive manner than we did,” said the Coach.

“We have no excuses, as Zlatan Ibrahimovic immediately put us under pressure. When we started to play, we conceded. Then the game was an uphill struggle after we conceded a stupid counter-attack that really got me angry.

“Then again, we did lose to the Serie A leaders. Maybe playing with three strikers was excessive, but we must work and reconsider ahead of the next test.”

President Zamparini was naturally not best pleased with the 4-0 drubbing on home turf.

“Zamparini was upset and we are aware that we gave Milan a helping hand in their victory with some obvious mistakes. We’ve got to learn from our errors.”
