Yunus Musah discussed his Thanksgiving celebrations in Italy, his preferred position on the pitch and his decision to join Milan in the summer.

The 20-year-old midfielder joined the Rossoneri from Valencia in the summer in a deal worth around €20m, penning a five-year contract. He has quickly slotted into Stefano Pioli’s squad, seeing 876 minutes of action across 14 games in Serie A and the Champions League. He’s provided one assist in that time.

Serie A has started to take on an increasingly American flavour in recent years, with Christian Pulisic joining Musah at Milan and Timothy Weah linking up with Weston McKennie at Juventus. Both clubs carried out summer tours in the United States, trying to capitalise on the growing market.

Speaking to Sport Mediaset via Calciomercato.com, Musah first discussed his Thanksgiving celebrations with Milan.

“Milan gave us a surprise and cooked a turkey, the traditional Thanksgiving dish. It’s wonderful to play with Pulisic.

“Seeing his qualities which he is also showing off at Milan. I want to score my first goal for the Rossoneri as soon as possible but the most important thing will be to win on Saturday.”

He touched on his favourite position on the pitch.

“I think I perform better in midfield as a mezzala, when I can run along the right wing. I like that role a lot.”

Finally, Musah discussed his decision to join Milan in the summer.

“It’s a good step for me to get there. I’ve always dreamed of playing for one of the best teams in the world and Milan, who have won so many Champions Leagues, are that. For me this is a very important step, I’m happy to have taken it.”
