In a stunning twist, Sevilla striker Luis Muriel has reportedly decided to stand by his original promise to join Fiorentina rather than Milan.

There had been multiple Spanish and Italian reports over the last 24 hours that Milan had matched the Viola’s offer and the Colombian was heading towards San Siro, on loan with option to buy for a total €13.5m.

However, Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia now maintain Muriel had given his word to Fiorentina on Friday and told his agent he won’t go back on it.

That means with the two offers identical, the former Sampdoria star will go with the Viola.

It is now up to the two clubs to agree terms.

Sevilla would’ve preferred doing business with Milan, as they already collaborated to take Andre Silva to Spain.
