The official announcement on the club’s website confirms the transfer of 22-year-old Muratore, who captained Juventus Under-23 to the Coppa Italia triumph against Ternana.

He will be available for Gian Piero Gasperini from next season and looks forward to start working for his new coach in Bergamo.

The official announcement on the club’s website confirms the transfer of 22-year-old Muratore, who captained Juventus Under-23 to the Coppa Italia triumph against Ternana.

“Atalanta represent a great opportunity for me, and I intend to give my best to repay the faith they have shown in me,” he told the club’s website. “What Atalanta are doing in the League and in Europe is evident for everyone.

“Now I can’t wait to start working with Mr Gasperini and my new teammates.”

Juventus confirmed the deal on their official website too: “Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announce that we have reached an agreement with Atalanta B.C. S.p.A. for the permanent transfer of the sporting rights of the player Simone Muratore, for a fee of €7m, payable over four years.

“This transaction generates a positive economic effect of approximately €6.8m net after costs.”
