Sulley Muntari feels Nigel De Jong is “a natural born leader” as Milan prepare to face PSV Eindhoven for the Champions League.

The Rossoneri play the first leg of the play-off in Holland on August 20, then the decider at San Siro on August 28.

“The important thing is to win and if my teammates score instead of me then that is just as good,” midfielder Muntari told Milan Channel.

“We are preparing a very important game for us, for our entire season because we want to play in the Champions League and this is a game that we want to win at all costs.

“I am very happy with the way things are going and how the training camp has gone this summer in the USA.”

Although the Rossoneri have made few signings over the summer, they do have De Jong back after missing almost an entire season with a torn Achilles tendon.

“De Jong’s return is very important for us, very important. He is a tough player in front of the defence.

“We have a lot of good players in midfield but when you think of De Jong you think of someone who breaks up play, who plays it well and is a natural born leader.”
