Having missed out on Milan, now Palermo defender Ezequiel Munoz is on the verge of joining Sampdoria.

The 24-year-old Argentine refused to sign a contract extension with Palermo, so will be a free agent in the summer.

Milan tried to sign Munoz, but Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini was infuriated by their attempts to get him for free, insisting he’d rather the player “rot in the stands” for five months.

Sky Sport Italia now claim Sampdoria have agreed to take Munoz on a paid loan until the end of the season.
