Bee Taechaubol has moved a step closer to taking over the running of Milan, with reports indicating a statement could arrive today.

The Thai investor, commonly known as Mr Bee, met with Rossoneri President Silvio Berlusconi at Arcore last night, offering €500m for 51 per cent of the shares, according to ANSA.

The Gazzetta dello Sport believes that Berlusconi listened to the proposal with great interest, but preferred to take a night to consider the offer.

The newspaper therefore expects a statement today from either Mr Bee or Berlusconi’s Fininvest company, confirming the end of the Berlusconi era or announcing no deal has been reached.

Hong Kong businessman Richard Lee is also believed to still be in the running, but he and his consortium are awaiting developments before deciding whether to proceed with an offer.
