Nicolo Zaniolo’s season abruptly stopped due to a dislocated shoulder and Jose Mourinho is keen to have him back in time for Roma’s upcoming clash with Atalanta.

The 23-year-old Italian forward suffered the injury near the end of the first half of the 1-0 win over Cremonese last month, forcing him to miss the Giallorossi’s last four matches across Serie A and the Europa League. Zaniolo will not feature against Empoli on Monday and is not expected to return in time for the next Europa League game against Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi.

As detailed by Calciomercato.com, Mourinho wants to right the ship in Rome after an inconsistent start and he wants Zaniolo back in his squad in time for Roma’s upcoming game against Atalanta, scheduled for September 18.

The Italian forward has started running without a shoulder brace and his recovery is progressing well, but it’s still too early to see him in action for the time being.

  1. Mohammed, you keep calling him Zaniola. It’s ZaniolO.
I wonder if there is a reason you do that?
