Jose Mourinho has personally asked Roma to closely follow Everton loanee Jarrad Branthwaite, who is standing out at PSV, reports detail.

The 20-year-old English centre back joined the Eredivisie side on a season-long loan deal last summer, giving him the chance to continue his development with regular first team football.

Branthwaite quickly became an important player for PSV, who offered Everton £15m for the defender last month, which was rejected.

As reported by The Daily Mail, Mourinho has been very impressed by Branthwaite’s development at PSV and asked Roma to keep a close eye on the Englishman ahead of the summer transfer window, sending scouts to closely monitor his performances.

Manchester United and Liverpool are also keen on the 20-year-old and have sent observers recently, setting up a possible battle for his signature at the end of the season.

Branthwaite has made 19 appearances for PSV since his arrival last summer, scoring three goals and helping the side keep six clean sheets.
