Motta joined the Bianconeri from Udinese” data-scaytid=”6″>Udinese in 2010, but was maligned for his performances, and has only managed 23 Serie A minutes for the Old Lady in the past three seasons.
A loan spell at Genoa last season appeared to offer the former Italian international a route out of the club, but the two parties were unable to agree on wages for a permanent transfer.
The breakdown of talks meant that Motta has remained in Turin, but the player’s agent Luca Pasqualin says Motta did have options.
“We failed to reach an agreement with Genoa for financial reasons,” Pasqualin told Tuttomercatoweb.
“Even though there were several options to leave, the decision was made to stay at Juventus.
“There was the opportunity to go to Norwich, but the lad’s thinking was: ‘recharge the batteries until January’.”
Pasqualin also represents Sebastian Giovinco, and spoke about the Juventus forward’s contract situation, and his lack of playing time this term.
“Sebastian is calm, and every time he’s called upon he’s a top performer.
“As far as the contract situation goes, we’re working on the contract renewal in silence, in a manner befitting an international player who – when he’s been used – has always played well.”
