The agent of Victor Osimhen, Roberto Calenda, was in town for another round of talks with Napoli over a contract extension for his client late on Tuesday night as pressure from Saudi Arabia begins to mount.

Il Corriere dello Sport notes that this is now the eighth time Calenda has met with Napoli this summer, but the most recent encounter was by far the most lengthy, four or five hours to be precise.

Napoli would like to keep Osimhen at all costs and the player himself would also reportedly like to stay on, but interest from Saudi Arabia has complicated proceedings for both parties.

The Nigerian currently earns around €4m per season in Naples, but that salary could be increased tenfold with a move to the Middle East.

Il Corriere suggests that Al-Hilal could afford to pay Osimhen between €45m and €50m per season for the next three to five years. The Saudi club reportedly could also offer Napoli a transfer fee in the region of €200m.

The report highlights the fact that Osimhen would still like to play in the Champions League, and if he were to leave Serie A, then the Premier League would be the ideal destination.

However, the appeal of a mega contract in Saudi Arabia is something that also requires serious consideration.
