The Lazio, Campania and Tuscany regions are ready to open up training grounds for athletes from Monday, after Emilia-Romagna overturned the Government ban.

Clubs were furious with the latest Government decree, which starts from May 4, as it allowed anyone to go running in the park, but not for a professional athlete to run inside a locked-off training ground where social distancing can be guaranteed.

Local regional authorities went against that in Emilia-Romagna, declaring clubs such as Parma, Bologna, SPAL and Sassuolo could train in their structures.

Parma and SPAL responded by warning they would not take up the option until a medical protocol was agreed with the FIGC and Government.

Now La Gazzetta dello Sport claim Lazio and Campania are ready to open up as well, while Tuscany are taking steps towards that too.

The pressure is therefore growing on Minister for Sport Vincenzo Spadafora, as if some clubs can train within their grounds and others cannot, it creates a disparity ahead of the remaining Serie A and Coppa Italia games.

The COVID-19 statistics are dropping all over the country, but are above all now localised in certain northern regions, above all Lombardy and Piedmont.
