It’s reported Massimo Moratti was stunned by Inter’s vicious statement towards Juventus, as he accepted Andrea Agnelli’s joke.

The verbal brawl erupted on Friday when Agnelli saluted departing Honorary President Moratti during a shareholder’s event.

“Moratti has always been crazy about Inter, so much that he even accepted a Scudetto that he didn’t win.”

Inter responded in very strong terms with a statement released by President Erick Thohir regarding the 2005-06 title, handed to Inter by the authorities after the Calciopoli scandal.

“FC Internazionale is saddened to hear that Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has once again attempted to distort the facts and change history.

“Unfortunately for him, and for Italian football as a whole, 2006 was a disastrous year in which the Scudetto was legitimately awarded to Inter by the FIGC and Juventus were relegated to Serie B along with their reputation.

“Those are the facts. We will not allow anyone to change them or act as if they did not happen.”

However, there is a new twist in the tale, as Tuttosport today claims Moratti was flabbergasted by the harsh response from his club.

The President considered Agnelli’s comments to be nothing more than the jokes they exchanged via text message in recent months.

This also represented another sign of Moratti’s detachment from the current Inter hierarchy.
