President Massimo Moratti has admitted that he’s evaluating his club’s next move after Inter’s loss at Napoli.

The Nerazzurri are in crisis after the 1-0 reverse in Naples last night means the side have collected just one point from the last 18 available.

The defeat at the Stadio San Paolo was also their fifth straight loss in all competitions under Claudio Ranieri.

“We’re thinking about things,” Moratti stated outside of his Milan offices on Monday. “We’ll see what to do.

“I’ll also speak with Ranieri as I haven’t talked to him yet and then we’ll consider what to do.”

Ranieri is reportedly close to the sack, but the oil baron insisted that he could keep faith with the man who replaced Gian Piero Gasperini in September.

“I think we can get out of this with Ranieri,” he added. “However, I want to understand his mood and that of the players.

“I spoke to him the other day and it seemed as if the side were improving from a psychological point of view, but sometimes that is not enough.”

Inter looked sluggish on Sunday night and Moratti wasn’t too impressed with what he saw from his troops.

“There was no reaction in the first half, it was a bit better after the break though,” he continued.

“An alternative to Ranieri? This is not a game. Let’s see.”
