Inter President Massimo Moratti saw Diego Milito improving, looked ahead to Juventus and had lunch with Paul Ince.

The patron – who is in advanced negotiations to sell his majority share to Indonesian magnate Erick Thohir – spoke to the official Inter website after a 2-2 friendly draw with Lugano.

Striker Milito was on target and closer to his competitive comeback after knee ligament surgery in February.

“Milito played well. He’s still working his way up to full fitness so he’s obviously not going to be at his very best, but fitness-wise he’s on the up.

“Why did I come to the training ground twice in two days? It’s normal because there was a game and it’s nice to watch a game every week.”

The Nerazzurri face the Derby d’Italia next Saturday, kicking off at 17.00 UK time. Is Moratti feeling confident?

“Let’s see. We'll need to have a good week on the training ground, even though lots of players are away unfortunately.”

The President also revealed he sat down with one of his old Inter favourites this week.

“Yes, I had lunch with Paul Ince… Apart from the language barrier it all went fine,” smiled Moratti.
