The Nerazzurri suffered their first defeat of the campaign on Saturday when they were beaten 3-0 by the League leaders.

“The loss means three points fewer,” the club President reflected outside of his offices in Milan on Monday.

“For us it's definitely a case of doing more. Even if I must say that the match could have gone completely differently.

“We'll use it as a lesson to perhaps work even harder. To understand certain games, when they go awry, you need to be able to approach them differently on the pitch.”

Inter were also unfortunate in the game seeing as a very big penalty decision didn’t go their way in the encounter.

“You could see it was outside the box, but you don't get angry,” Moratti added. “It's the start of the season, you keep thinking these are mistakes that can happen.

“I'm disappointed that there are three people there watching and none of them got it right. But, hey, that's how it went, you can't get worked up about it, you always hope you can come back.”

Moratti was also questioned about the club’s sale to Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir, amid reports that the deal could be completed on Wednesday.

“I don't know, we'll see. We'll calmly see where we are and go from there.”
