Massimo Moratti feels Inter have proved they can win the Scudetto this season and expects them to raise Mauro Icardi’s €110m release clause.

Inter moved top of Serie A on Sunday with a 5-0 victory over Chievo, prompting Moratti to believe they can win their first title since he relinquished his presidency four years ago.

“Yesterday was a great game, Inter played really well,” he told Premium Sport.

“Scudetto? Inter always start the season with the objective of winning, but this time there are some bases to work on. It’s possible.

Juventus-Inter? It’ll be a great match. Both sides are playing well, have character and are going for the top.

“Spalletti? Every Coach is different, but Spalletti’s very good.”

The Nerazzurri have also faced pressure to up Icardi’s exit clause, given his prolific start to the campaign and reported interest from Real Madrid.

“Raising Icardi’s clause? The board will take care of it. I think they will,” concluded their former owner.
