Inter won back-to-back League games for the first time since May thanks to a late winner from Luc Castaignos gave the Nerazzurri the three points away to Siena on Sunday.

The President expressed his satisfaction with securing the result in light of what he described as ‘a particular kind of match in which it’s not easy to play well in’, before offering an interesting answer when asked if he’d place a €1 bet on his team to now win the Scudetto.

“I don’t know [about that], but if the jackpot were one million then you would come out pretty well betting a euro.

“I’m betting on the character of the players, which is something different, and on the pride of these lads.

“Also on the fact that they still have not stopped thinking positively. The bet is on that.”

Moratti refused to be drawn on any planned transfer activity for January, suggesting it is still too early to know if it is required.

After this weekend’s results, Inter sit in 12th place in the Serie A standings,  11 points behind League leaders Juventus.
