Alvaro Morata claims he is revelling in the sense of importance that has been afforded to him at Juventus.

The 21-year-old striker arrived in Turin during the summer from Real Madrid, but suffered a knee injury just days after completing his switch to the Italian champions.

However, he recovered from his setback sooner than expected, netting a hat-trick during a midweek friendly, and is now ready to follow his ‘dream’ of representing the Bianconeri.

“The adventure in Italy is going very well, and I could not feel better,” Morata told Marca.

“I love the city and my teammates. I have been well received and feel great physically. It’s the best place that I could have ended up.

“My recovery was rapid, and the doctors and physical therapists have done a great job. Now I have to get back into shape, but I'm pretty good.

“Playing for Real Madrid was a dream, but now I'm at Juventus and ready for a new challenge. Playing for Juve is another dream of mine. I will go step by step to achieve all of my goals.

“Leaving Real Madrid was difficult, but if a team like Juve comes your way and place their trust in you… Let's just say that I could not ask for anything better.”

The striker then outlined his intention to mark his stay at Juventus with trophies, which he hopes will result in a call-up to the senior Spain squad.

“The main thing is that I wanted to feel important, so I like how the Coach talks to me a lot. I feel part of the team and useful to the squad.

“I want to become stronger and get noticed by the Coach to become an important player in the team.

“I only think about the Under-21s right now, but if I were to get a call from [senior boss Vicente] del Bosque, I would be ready, because it is the dream of a lifetime.”

Morata could make his full Juve debut against Milan this weekend.
