Martin Montoya says he joined Inter to win trophies – ‘we want to win everything’.
The full-back has transferred to the Nerazzurri from Barcelona on a two-year loan with an option to buy, and explained his ambition in an interview with Inter Channel.
“I came to this great club to win trophies,” Montoya explained.
“I won everything at Barcelona, but here the team wants to get back to winning and return to the top.

“I came to this great club to win trophies,” Montoya explained.
“I won everything at Barcelona, but here the team wants to get back to winning and return to the top.
“We want to win everything, the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia. We want to have a good season, play good football, have fun and get back to winning.”
The 24-year-old also elaborated on the differences between training between Spain and Italy, and the role Coach Roberto Mancini wants him to play.
“At Barcelona we used the ball more in pre-season training, we worked on how to move on the pitch, but always with the ball.
“Here we also work on the physical and tactical aspects. It’s not more difficult, it’s just different, it’s just a question of getting used to this kind of work.
“Mancini asks the full-backs to go forward, get back, play and send crosses in. I want to work hard everyday and show I can do that.
“At Barcelona it was different, the team always had the ball and we attacked everyone. Everyone worked to press our opponents.
“In Italy you have to be more careful, do the diagonals well, close things out well… in short, it’s very different.
“Going forward? For a defender an assist counts as a goal. Sure, if you score then it’s better, but also an assist is as good as a goal.”
