The Viola consider the Chelsea winger to be in breach of contract, after he opted not to return to Stadio Artemio Franchi for this season.

The Tuscan side have repeatedly threatened to block his proposed move to the Giallorossi, but the player’s representative insists they cannot affect the transfer.

“We don’t need the go-ahead from Fiorentina.” Ramy Abbas told Sky.

The agent then took to Twitter to expand on his comments.

"Mohamed Salah does not need any approvals [sic] from Fiorentina. The last day of his contract with Fiorentina was 30/6/2015, and they always knew it.

"We also do not need any 'amicable agreements' between Fiorentina and anyone. Any good news will come from Switzerland, not from London.

"The comments that Salah will be suspended for six months are downright ridiculous."

The player has been training with the Lupi this week, but the deal has not been finalised as the tense legal situation is yet to be resolved.
