Riccardo Montolivo says he is progressing well in his recovery from a broken leg amid reports of a November return.

The Milan captain has been out since suffering the injury in May when in action for Italy in a World Cup warm-up game with the Republic of Ireland.

Attending a presentation today with Inter defender Juan Jesus on the partnership between Serie A and Sportradar aimed to educate against match-fixing, the midfielder revealed he is optimistic on his continued recovery.

“My injury is long and we are almost at the end,” Montolivo has told reporters today.

“When will I return? We will see from day to day.”

Montolivo will undergo further inspection in three weeks’ time, at which point he will know more precisely when he can return to training.

He is likely to return to competitive action in November.
