Vincenzo Montella says it was an ‘honour’ to coach Milan and hopes Gennaro Gattuso can take the club “back where they belong.”
Montella was sacked by Milan on Monday morning after a poor start to the season, with club legend Gattuso taking his place.
“Coaching Milan was an honour, working with this group even more so,” tweeted the Coach.
“I thank the fans for their support, Fassone and Mirabelli for this opportunity and my staf for supporting me throughout.
