I want to thank everyone for giving me the opportunity to work here at Roma. There’s nothing more to say, it’s best to look forward now,” Monchi told Pagine Romaniste as he left the Trigoria training ground for the final time.

“I wish Roma all the best of luck for the rest of the season. I hope it ends with them having achieved their objective of a top four finish.”

Is Monchi disappointed by the way things went in his brief tenure and did we see the real Monchi?

“I don’t want to talk about that, I want to think positive, which is remember the opportunity to work in Rome and for Roma. This is not the time to think about such things, it’s the time to remember good moments.”

He has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League and Arsenal, where Monchi would reunite with former Sevilla Coach Unai Emery. Is that where he is headed?

“I haven’t decided on my future yet.”
