Sevilla sporting director Monchi warns Juventus are “stronger, more complete” this year.

The two sides have been drawn together in the Group Stage of the Champions League for the second year in a row.

On the final day last season, the Andalusian side beat the Bianconeri to earn themselves a Europa League slot and condemn Max Allegri’s side to second place.

“We haven’t had any luck,” Monchi sighed, speaking to Tuttomercatoweb after the draw.

On the final day last season, the Andalusian side beat the Bianconeri to earn themselves a Europa League slot and condemn Max Allegri’s side to second place.

“We haven’t had any luck,” Monchi sighed, speaking to Tuttomercatoweb after the draw.

“We drew the strongest team, considering we couldn’t face Barcelona or Real Madrid. We know Juventus, and I think they’re stronger, more complete than last year. We hope to go through with them.”

Sevilla have won the Europa League for two years in a row, perhaps it’d be better to drop down and lift the trophy again?

“No, not this year. This year we want to aim to get out of the group, our objective is to get to at least the Last 16.”

Finally, the sporting director was asked about a move for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu.

“It’s true, there’s interest and we’re negotiating with Paris Saint-Germain,” Monchi admitted.

“Wait a few days, we’ll see if we can close the deal.”
