The newspaper goes on to write Daniele De Rossi and Coach Eusebio Di Francesco were ‘spared’ but that Vice-President Mauro Baldissoni and Monchi were also targeted.

“You have to go, you’re wrecking the team,” they would have told the Spaniard.

The sporting director is said to have replied ‘you’re better’ and then ‘in six months, I’ll take on each of you one on one.’

Monchi joined Di Francesco in not speaking to the media after the Giallorossi’s 3-1 defeat on Wednesday, with Francesco Totti sent out instead.

That was the first time Totti had faced the Press before the former Sevilla man, who continues to be heavily linked with Arsenal.
