“We must forget what happens in the other games and focus only on ourselves,” the director of sport told Mediaset Premium.
“We have an important opportunity to go forward in a difficult arena against a very strong opponent. If we want to go forward, we must win today.
“I speak to Eusebio every day and he knows I and the club have faith in him. He’s ready to continue the path he started at the beginning of the season. There are always going to be difficult moments, but we must stick together.”
Monchi was asked about Balotelli leaving Nice this summer and gave an interesting revelation.
“He was offered to us during the January transfer window in case Edin Dzeko was leaving. Mino Raiola is smart, he knows what to do for his player.
“The Coach told the truth, he did talk about Balotelli with Sassuolo, and we did discuss it with Mino in January. We are happy with our forward players now and don’t think about replacing them with anyone.”
