Inter pair Danilo D’Ambrosio and Miranda have undergone tests today, revealing a medial collateral ligament injury and a calf problem respectively.

Both players had to be substituted in yesterday’s 1-0 loss to Sassuolo, with the changes coming within three minutes of each other.

“Having both been substituted during Saturday’s game against Sassuolo, Danilo D'Ambrosio and Joao Miranda both had MRI scans at the Humanitas Research Hospital in Rozzano this morning,” the Nerazzurri said on their official website.

“Results revealed that the Italian defender has suffered a first-grade lesion to the medial collateral ligament in his left leg, while the Brazilian has a first-grade lesion in the soleus muscle of his right leg.

“They will both begin rehabilitation tomorrow.”

The news means both will almost certainly miss the Derby della Madonnina with Milan in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday, and may not be able to return until after the winter break.
