A strike from Aleksei Miranchuk proved enough for Torino to get the better of Espanyol in a Spanish winter friendly test.

The Granata flew out to Spain for the match and broke the deadlock with Miranchuk curling low into the far bottom corner from the edge of the area with his left boot at the 39th minute.

Toro had found the net for a second time too following a long passing move, but Yann Karamoh had just wandered offside.

Ivan Juric and his squad will continue training in San Pedro del Pinatar until the weekend and have another friendly lined up against Almeria on Friday.

Once they return to Turin, so will the Serbia internationals who have completed their World Cup campaign in Qatar, namely Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, Sasa Lukic and Nemanja Radonjic.

The Serie A fixture list will resume from January 4 and Torino are set to welcome Hellas Verona to the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.
