Massimiliano Mirabelli claims Milan did “95 percent” of the business they set out to do and vows “we’ll bolster the squad even further.”

Mirabelli helped to bring in 11 players at a cost of over €200m over the summer, his first as Milan’s sporting director, and he believes there is reason for the fans to “dream”.

“The fans can dream, but we mustn’t create false illusions,” the 48-year-old told Premium Sport.

“We’ll give everything in the three competitions we’re in, including the Europa League as that can take us back to the Champions League.

“The important thing is to remain patient in our squad-building. We can begin a new cycle.

“Transfer market? This club fascinate so many players as there are those who want to come here and many that are here and don’t want to leave.

“We’re an important team, we’ve reached 95 percent of the objectives we set and we’ll bolster the squad even further in the coming years.

“Rafinha in January? We were never interested in him. Maybe it was an attempt by his representatives or other teams to draw more attention to him.

“Sosa? We have an agreement with Trabzonspor. Now it’s up to the player.”
