Milan sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli expects “a calm summer” for Gigio Donnarumma, but “the situation is to be defined” for Nikola Kalinic and André Silva.

The Rossoneri will be sanctioned by UEFA for breaching Financial Fair Play, and could even be thrown out of the Europa League, but that won’t prompt a mass exodus of players.

“I’ve had no hint of a possible exodus,” Mirabelli told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Just think of [Alessio] Romagnoli’s renewal, he tied himself to us until 2022. And [Patrick] Cutrone’s will arrive soon.

“Up until now no-one has asked to leave, the only one who told us that he has other projects is Bacca.

“We’ll find a solution for Carlos, Cutrone will stay and for Kalinic and Silva the situation is to be defined.

“Of course we won’t hold anyone against their will, but we need to have adequate offers.

“Donnarumma? I see a great future for both [him and Cutrone], and I hope that’s with Milan. It’s on players like those that we’re building the team.

“I think Gigio can have a calm summer this time.

“Ending the transfer market without selling one of our big names, who have a lot of offers, is the main objective. And it’s achievable.

“If you want a slogan: trust this Milan. We’re not lacking much to turn the corner.”

UEFA appear to have huge doubts about owner Yonghong Li…

“I’d like to say something, and I’m talking in general, not to UEFA: there needs to be a little more respect toward Mr Li.

“He’s a President who has kept to his commitments and has invested a lot. Of course he’s not one who talks much, but he puts money in and doesn’t miss anything.

“Then he appointed a manager like [Marco] Fassone, one of the best executives in Europe with great skills.

“We are in a sea full of obstacles, but there are many other reasons that lead me to see Milan with calm.

“For example, we were the youngest team last season. The strategy of focusing on young players has paid off and will pay off.

“Then of course the last transfer campaign left a large negative balance, but the squad needed to be rebuilt.

“I assure you that if we sold all those newcomers today we’d make a profit.

“There’s a very good group of Italians, [Andrea] Conti will return and he’ll be our first signing, then we have eight others who are at the World Cup.

“I would say that we have a good basis for building a great Milan, starting with the Coach [Gennaro Gattuso].”
