Milan insist that they will not be bringing in a new left-back if they sell Djamel Mesbah to Palermo.

The Rosanero are keen on the Algerian and talks took place at the Giannino restaurant in Milan earlier today.

“There is a negotiation with Palermo,” Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani noted. “If we sell Mesbah then we won’t be bringing in a replacement.”

Palermo director Giorgio Perinetti was the man who dined with Galliani to discuss the defender who only joined Milan in January from Lecce.

“We had a discussion with Galliani,” Perinetti noted. “Talks always begin, but you never know how they are going to end…”

Mesbah, whose agent is set to talk to Milan later today, rejected the opportunity to join Torino earlier this summer.

Meanwhile, Galliani was also asked for an update on the Antonio Cassano-Giampaolo Pazzini swap deal with Inter.

“I like Pazzini, I always have,” the San Siro chief noted. “Let’s see what happens.”
