The Gazzetta dello Sport are leading with the suggestion that whilst talks with Luciano Spalletti have stalled over wage demands, negotiations are not yet over and will be revisited.
It is believed that Milan are looking to first resolve Seedorf’s exit, which is expected to be protracted with the Dutchman seen as likely to push for full compensation on his contract which otherwise runs to June 2016.
There remains also the issue with Spalletti’s own contractual situation with Zenit St Petersburg, who although having sacked the 55-year-old in March, remain tied to a deal until next summer, with a €4.5m salary attached.
For these situations, the Gazzetta believe that any move by Milan to replace Seedorf with Spalletti will require time.
However, the Corriere della Sera and Corriere dello Sport are reporting that the San Siro outfit in fact have eyes set on a possible return for Carlo Ancelotti.
The 54-year-old spent eight years at the helm, leading the club to a Scudetto, Coppa Italia and two European Cups among other things, before leading in 2009.
Whilst contracted to Real Madrid, the speculation is that the Rossoneri are prepared to wait and see if the Italian leaves his post, should Los Blancos lose the Champions League Final to Atletico Madrid, and then if he would be open to a return to them.
However, finances again appear to be an issue, with Ancelotti seen as on around €10m-per-season, with his current Madrid deal running until June 2016.
