Milan have officially taken Marco van Ginkel on loan from Chelsea and sent goalkeeper Gabriel to Carpi.

Van Ginkel had already flown in last night for his medical and final details, but the move was completed this evening.

It is a one-season loan with no permanent option for the 21-year-old Dutch international, who spent most of last year out with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Van Ginkel joins Fernando Torres in moving from Chelsea to Milan, though the Spanish striker is on a two-year loan deal.

Meanwhile, Milan have officially loaned Brazilian goalkeeper Gabriel to Serie B side Carpi.

He won the Under-20 World Cup with Brazil and the silver medal at the London 2012 Olympics.

Gabriel played several Serie A games, but was pushed down the pecking order by the arrival of free agents Diego Lopez and Michael Agazzi this summer.
