Milan could turn to promising youngsters Davide Astori and Mattia Destro to replace their outgoing superstars Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Sportmediaset understands.

Astori and Destro are seen as younger and cheaper alternatives to the Paris-Saint Germain bound Silva and Ibrahimovic, and are thought to be two deals that may be agreed quickly.

As PSG negotiated the arrival of Milan’s two best players yesterday, the Rossoneri’s Vice-President Adriano Galliani was already hard at work on bringing Astori, 25, and Destro, 21, to the club.

Milan’s perilous financial situation has not only forced the €62m sale of Silva and Ibrahimovic, but also means that high-profile targets such as Manchester City duo Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko would be problematic swoops.

Only one of those two players would also take up Milan’s last available non-EU slot in their squad, making Astori and Destro even more of an attractive option.

Cagliari” data-scaytid=”44″>Cagliari centre-back Astori rejected a €15m move to Spartak Moscow recently, but should be more willing to accept a switch to Milan because he is a product of the Rossoneri’s youth system.

Destro impressed last season at Siena but he is co-owned by Genoa, meaning the two clubs would have to agree on who takes full ownership before discussing a transfer to Milan. Destro played in Milan’s local rivals Inter’s youth academy.

Neither Astori nor Destro would come cheap but Milan, needing replacements for Silva and Ibrahimovic, would still be significantly cutting their costs should the two young Italians arrive.
