Parma defender Gabriel Paletta could be a step closer to Milan, Corriere dello Sport have claimed.

The Rome-based newspaper has insisted that the Argentine centre-back is unlikely to sign a new contract with the Crociati after comments made by CEO Pietro Leonardi insisting he can only leave for €35m.

As such, the 27-year-old is unlikely to pen a new deal with the Ennio Tardini club when his current deal runs out next summer.

Massimiliano Allegri’s men were reportedly put off by the asking price slapped on Paletta, but could now wait until January or even next summer to sign the former Boca Juniors man.
