The former Atalanta midfielder has expressed his will to continue with the Rossoneri, amid links to Napoli in recent transfer markets.

Kessie arrived in July 2017 and Calciomercato.com reveals former Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso specifically asked Napoli to get him Kessie.

The report claims the two clubs never entered talks over the Ivory Coast international but that the Diavolo never would have let the 23-year-old leave for less than €30m.

Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are currently not prioritising a contract renewal with Kessie, who is tied to San Siro until June 2022, but the outlet writes he could be offered a new deal in due time.

Kessie has played 136 competitive games for the Rossoneri, contributing 16 goals in the process.
