It's expected that the Rossoneri will buy a 50 per cent stake in the 18-year-old who has spent this season on loan at Padova.

A half share in the attacking midfielder will reportedly cost the Milan giants around €6m, plus half of Alexander Merkel's contract.

The player's agent, Roberto La Florio, was more cautious about his client's future earlier today when he spoke to Radio Kiss Kiss.

"Nothing has been decided for El Shaarawy," he stated. "The two clubs gave each other time to think about the situation.

"Let's see what happens and whether an agreement can be reached."

El Shaarawy, whose father is Egyptian, is an Italian Under-19 international. He was called up to the Under-21 set-up earlier this year but wasn't used.

Inter are also understood to be very keen on acquiring the talent's signature.

Should Milan do a deal, El Shaarawy is still expected to spend next season at Marassi with Genoa.
