Spanish reports claiming that Sergio Ramos had contact with Milan are seemingly confirmed, but the talks were quickly abandoned due to his wage demands.

Chiringuito TV reported that negotiations had begun between the defender, who is leaving Real Madrid as a free agent, and the Rossoneri.

However, Tuttomercatoweb and Calciomercato.com both note it was an initial meeting a couple of weeks ago and the interest quickly died away.

Milan are trying to keep their wage bill down, so €15m net per season on a two-year contract, plus up to €20m signing-on fee, were considered completely out of the question.

The Serie A side just paid €28.5m to buy Fikayo Tomori outright from Chelsea after his six-month loan, so Ramos would not even be guaranteed playing time.
