Giampaolo Pazzini and Giacomo Bonaventura allowed Milan to beat San Lorenzo 2-0 in the Trofeo Berlusconi.

This friendly is usually played against Juventus” data-scaytid=”6″>Juventus in August, but was rescheduled this year due to other commitments. The Copa Libertadores holders – and the side supported by Pope Francis – visited San Siro for the 23rd edition of the tournament. President Silvio Berlusconi and CEO Barbara Berlusconi were not in attendance, while there were only 5,153 tickets sold.

M’Baye Niang forced a save with his free kick from distance before Pazzini opened the scoring, getting in front of defenders to meet a Riccardo Saponara cross from the left flank.

Marco van Ginkel got a rare start, but drilled off target after good work from Niang, while ex-Milan defender Mario Yepes saw a shot decisively charged down by Philippe Mexes.

Niang came so close to doubling their lead after the restart, but his left-foot strike cannoned off the upright.

Stephan El Shaarawy forced a couple of tough saves out of Franco, while 16-year-old prodigy Hachim Mastour was given a run-out at San Siro alongside Fernando Torres.

Adil Rami had the chance to make it 2-0, but ballooned over from a Niang free kick, then the French striker tested Franco again.

San Lorenzo had a great chance to equalise on 79 minutes, but ex-Catania forward Pablo Barrientos thumped the upright and Cauterucio ballooned the follow-up over the bar.

Torres saw his cheeky chip flapped off the line and late on his shot was parried by Franco into the path of Giacomo Bonaventura.

Mastour almost marked the occasion with a great goal, but his curler from outside the box just missed the top corner.
