When the prospective new owners sent an instalment of €85m as part of the deal, it was announced that the deal would be closed before the end of the year.

Previous speculation suggested that the closing would be on November 5, but this morning’s Gazzetta dello Sport now suggests it will be the first week of December.

Current President Silvio Berlusconi has agreed to sell the club, but is expected to remain in an advisory role, at least initially.
