Milan winger Alexis Saelemaekers has helped his compatriot Charles De Ketelaere off the pitch and believes the Rossoneri should not change their attitude in the Champions League.

The Serie A champions host Dinamo Zagreb in the second Champions League group stage game tomorrow.

Saelemaekers scored his first-ever Champions League goal in his season debut in the competition against RB Salzburg last week.

“Everyone dreams of scoring a Champions League and when you achieve that, it’s important,” the 23-old said at a press conference.

What does he make of the competition from Junior Messias?

“It’s essential to have someone who can replace you. I am motivated to do all I can to start, but in the end, it’s up to the coach. There are strong players in top clubs and competition is ok.

“Every game is important, we don’t look at what Dinamo did, we want to play at our level and the best team will win.”

How has his compatriot De Ketelaere settled at San Siro?

“Charles has settled in well, he is serene and has self-confidence. I’ve helped him with off-the-field issues, which are the most tricky ones when you come from abroad. He is a great player and I am sure he will help the team.”
