However, that experiment seems to have been put on ice for now.
“We’ll play with a 4-2-3-1,” the tactician stated this afternoon. “I don’t enjoy changing the system so often, but I’m forced to do that because of the players I have at my disposal.
“I can’t invent roles and I’m forced to change.”
Milan have had a season to forget so far and they have collected just 11 points from the 30 on offer to date.
“Chievo will be an important game that will allow us to get our third positive result in a row. By winning we will be able to stay attached to the train for fourth place.”
One of the few bright points of their campaign to date is the scoring exploits of El Shaarawy, Serie A’s top scorer with seven goals in 10 games.
“El Shaarawy is in good shape,” Allegri noted. “He’s young and one of the few who are scoring. I have to play him.”
Kevin Prince Boateng is back at the disposal of the Coach, while Allegri admitted that Alexandre Pato or Giampaolo Pazzini would start in attack.
“Abbiati will play in goal, Constant and Abate will be full-backs. Mexes will be partnered by Zapata or Acerbi.
“Montolivo will play, with Ambrosini or De Jong. Then Bojan, El Shaarawy, Emanuelson. Plus Pato or Pazzini.”
He also again commented on his future with the outfit given the constant speculation that he is facing the chop.
“I’m in total harmony with the club. We’ll all get out of this moment by staying together. The club has always protected me and we are doing the groundwork for the future.”
