Barbara Berlusconi has reportedly presented a proposal for the development of a new 50,000 seater stadium for Milan.

Rumours last week indicated that joint-CEO Berlusconi, daughter of President Silvio, had identified a site next to Milan’s headquarters as a suitable area to develop a new stadium for the Rossoneri.

The Gazzetta dello Sport reports this morning that Berlusconi has submitted a proposal to Fiera Milano, which owns the land in question – a 45,000 square-metre area between Viale Lodovico Scarampo and Via Gattamelata.

According to the sports daily, the plans for the stadium represent a 50,000-seater arena with car parks and sound-proofing to keep noise inside the ground.

However, any construction process will apparently be slow-moving, as even if Fiera Milano accept Berlusconi’s proposals, the club would then have to convince Milan city council and local residents that the construction of a stadium in the area would be a positive thing.
