Milan are reportedly planning more changes for the Champions League against Tottenham Hotspur, with Malick Thiaw earning a spot in defence and Brahim Diaz heading towards the bench.

It kicks off at San Siro on Tuesday at 20.00 GMT and is the first leg of the Round of 16.

The Rossoneri are sticking with the 3-4-2-1 formation that allowed them to squeeze past Torino 1-0 on Friday evening, with Rafael Leao and another player supporting Olivier Giroud.

Usually it would be Brahim Diaz, but it’s reported he faces pressure from Alexis Saelemaekers and Charles De Ketelaere for that slot.

Ismael Bennacer does not recover, joining Mike Maignan and Sergino Dest on the absentee list, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Yacine Adli and Aster Vranckx are not eligible.

Rade Krunic is therefore the favourite to partner Sandro Tonali in midfield, with Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez as the wing-backs.

Thiaw impressed against Torino and is more accustomed to a three-man defence than others, so he could well be preferred to Simon Kjaer.

Milan probable (3-4-2-1): Tatarusanu; Kalulu, Thiaw, Tomori; Calabria, Tonali, Krunic, Theo Hernandez; Saelemaekers, Rafael Leao; Giroud

  1. Hopefully they can pull a performance from somewhere despite their woeful form.

Though it’s not as woeful as their record against epl sides over the last 15 years.

Time for them to show up against an epl team for a change.
