President Silvio Berlusconi says ‘we don’t want to sell Milan’, despite rumours of an increased offer from Mr Bee.

It was reported today that Thai businessman Bee Taechaubol was ready to raise his offer for the Rossoneri to €1bn, but the current patron says he isn’t looking to sell the club outright.

“I was told,” Berlusconi said when asked about the rumours by Mediaset.

“I haven’t heard anything, and I’ve not been able to check. However, that’s not mine or my family’s intention.

“We don’t want to sell Milan, we’re just looking for a partner to help us get back to being not just good, but great.”

Berlusconi also reflected on Milan’s season, and says they’ll be back to being competitive next term.

“At the beginning of the season, [joint-CEO Adriano] Galliani and I thought we had a Milan worthy of the Champions League.

“We had two squads of starting players, we believed we’d be able to have a wonderful season.

“Then Milan was not able to establish a style of play, we had too many injuries, and perhaps demoralisation took over.

“Football goes in cycles, we’ve been having a lunch of caviar and champagne for almost 30 years, so this once I think we can be satisfied with mozzarella.

“We’re ready to go back to caviar.”
